Suzi Malan is doing a Ph.D. at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver in forest resource management. Her focus is global environmental governance as observed in the peace parks of Southern Africa. Her background is in nature conservation, rural development and land use planning, with a pinch of agronomy thrown into the mix. She is also a teacher of English, and has spent some time in the UAE participating in English education reform programs. She has lived in 5 countries on 4 continents.
