Catherine van Reenen
Project Coordinator
Catherine is a Project Coordinator working on IISD's 2020 Lake Winnipeg AquaHacking Challenge. She has over five years of experience as a research assistant coordinating project logistics, organizing public lectures and workshops, writing and editing grant applications, and analyzing research materials. She has also worked as a course marker, communications specialist, and student aid administrator.
In 2018, Catherine completed her M.A. in Media Studies at Concordia University. Her thesis develops a media history of the Wunderkammer—a 16th-century collection of arts and wonders that formed the material basis for modern natural history museums. With a research background in the history of science and technology, Catherine is interested in contextualizing contemporary sustainability and social justice issues within broader historical trends.
